We have an extensive knowledge of the management of moorlands from the early days of management agreements, The Exmoor Environmentally Sensitive Area scheme, Countryside Stewardship and the more recent Environmental Stewardship schemes and Upland Entry level Stewardship. Our involvement includes drawing up schemes through FEPÕs Farm Environment Plans negotiating with project officers and agreeing appropriate options on moorland. We have experience of resolving problems on moorland areas deemed not to be in good condition and the steps required to allow recovery by scrub control reseeding of heather proper stock management reversal of drainage etc

We are able to maximise occupiers payments by correct option choice and where appropriate access arrangements, we are able to provide teachers packs and devise educational access schemes. Where appropriate we can offer the services of Landsense Ltd to quote to carry out practical work. With regard to commons we have been involved with the passage of the recent Commons act and have been part of the consultative process on implementation. We have been able to broker a number of ESA and HLS Commons Schemes and to deliver workable commons management agreements for Commoners Associations.. We are aware of the complexity of Commons and the difficulty of devising a workable scheme to satisfy all parties. We are able to assist with regard to commons rights and their transfer.
